Madtree Parks & Rec
Reclaimed Sawmill Oak Paneling Frames This Nature-Infused Brewery Space
Description
MadTree Brewing’s Parks & Rec at Summit Park is a brewery and social hub that extends the experience of the surrounding park into the built environment. The design emphasizes openness and flexibility, with large, operable windows providing light and fresh air. Natural materials—most notably reclaimed sawmill oak paneling—anchors the interior, bringing warmth and a tactile sense of authenticity that reflects the project’s connection to place.
Lush greenery is integral to the experience, with living walls and suspended “botanical chandeliers” layering plant life throughout the interior. The design draws on camping and national park imagery, expressed through rustic textures, immersive spatial moments, and a relaxed, outdoors-inspired atmosphere. At the center of the bar, a realistic, large-scale tree sculpture becomes a focal point, reinforcing the sense of being within a constructed landscape. These elements work together to blur the line between built space and nature, creating an environment that feels both playful and grounded.
