If you’ve watched a home improvement show recently, you may already be familiar with the interior design trend known as “color drenching.” The concept is simple: a single paint color is applied across walls, ceilings, trim, doors, and sometimes even furniture. By minimizing contrast and visual breaks, it can make a space feel more intentional, dramatic, and often larger or more enveloping. At least, that’s the theory.

While we’re not the biggest fans of color drenching, we can certainly appreciate its offshoot: wood drenching. For some, the idea may conjure up unpleasant memories of dark, dated wood paneled interiors from the 1970s, complete with rust colored shag carpet and in-home bar. Fortunately, today’s take on the trend is a little more refined.
