Barnwood Facelift

This is a true “barn to table” kind of story. But in this case the barn is a 19th century railroad building in the midwest and the table is an entire Napa Valley estate. This project is particularly unique in the sense that almost all of the material came from one singular building, which was then transformed into this home in a completely reimagined way. Who would have thought that those dirty lookin’ oak beams could be uplifted into an airy, light-filled kitchen? Well, Kimberly Timmons Interiors figured out exactly how to do it.

The Reclaimed Wood Process

Dismantling, milling, kiln drying and finishing reclaimed wood like this is a time-intensive process. It involves thoughtful care, sorting and quality management to ensure that the wood installs properly and lasts a lifetime. For this project, Anthology Woods provided tongue and groove Sawmill Oak wide plank hardwood flooring, as well as ceiling paneling, wall cladding, box beams and trim.

Reclaimed Industrial Oak flooring, stair treads and risers were also featured throughout the home.

Transitional Farmhouse Style

This interior designs masterfully blends rustic elements into a clean and crisp contemporary design, blending traditional farmhouse styles with more modern transitional looks. The distressed reclaimed wood flooring, paneling and accents are balanced by the clean white walls and neutral decorative accents and furniture. The home exudes a luxurious feel with a natural, earthy flair, featuring antler chandeliers and oversized wood beam coffee table.

Utilizing the reclaimed wood throughout the expansive house creates a cohesive feel, tying each room together for a stunning overall interior design.
